... not sure if the whole team is in this pic, but many are. Lots of fun and fond memories with the family...

Looking for the Famous Thankgiving Rolls

I'm waiting for someone to post the recipe for the Thanksgiving rolls, aka Angel Rolls. My kids and wife had these rolls one Thanksgiving in Indiana and have been on me ever since. I have tried to make them but have never got the taste and or texture quite right, so if you know are aware, please share.

Appreciation time!

I really can't tell you how important it is to me to remember those who have gone before us and left wonderful legacys. Our Granny was so full of love and appreciation for every member of her family - no matter how distant the relative. Never a harsh word, but lots of love and admiration and appreciation. What a great example she was. I'm very fortunate to have been one of the first grandchildren born to her firstborn. My mother (Norma Jean) has been able to pass down all those early memories of life in the old log cabin.

My Granny and Me!

My Granny and Me!

This photo was taken a few months before we lost Granny. I treasure that time with her & our fun lunch together that day. I'm sure Mom and my sisters Donna and Kim loved that day with her as well. Kay also met us for lunch & we talked, laughed & shot photos. Oh how I'd love to have just a day of my Granny all over again.

No Bake Cheese Cake

This recipe uses jello as a binder so you don't have to bake the cheesecake. Another hand written recipe I found. The standard "Best ever" is in red at the top so it must be good.

Momies Thankful Prayer

Momie would always say three things
Thank you, God Bless you and I love you
whenever anyone would do for her. I especially remember this near the end of her life.

Becky, Momie would always start her prayer
"Thank you Lord for all of your many many blessings"...She saw good in everything, never questioned and always faithful. She would look out at the Rain even when everyone complained and say I am glad Man is not in charge of the weather.

Thanks Abe for sitting this up to connect us all and share special stories. God Bless you and you know I love you. xo MOM

Granny's Prayer- Does anyone remember it?

I think about Granny every day as I'm sure most of you do too. Whether it's a memory of her speeding by in the green Nova or moving 90 miles an hour while cleaning and crafting or chopping up a snake with a hoe in the garden (one of few times she swore) or the fact that if she slowed down long enough to sit she'd usually doze off... they are all wonderful memories. I wish I could remember the prayer she said before evry meal-- it was usually the same prayer and I remember she always asked for God's "guiding and protecting hand over us all".

Thanks for doing this Abe- it's so great!!!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Another hand written recipe from Granny. Its funny, I'm noticing a lot of her recipes start with "best ever".
